Erin has over 20 years of professional experience in the landscape industry, working across both public and private sectors in Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad. She holds a Master of Urban Design (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Landscape Management) from Massey University.

 

As a landscape planner and urban designer, Erin works across a broad spectrum of projects, including residential and commercial development, urban design statements, medium-density housing, rural character assessments, and renewable-energy projects such as solar farms. Her work encompasses landscape and visual effects assessments, planting and mitigation design, and biodiversity-focused planning responses. She also provides peer review, technical input, and expert landscape evidence for consent and hearing processes on behalf of both applicants and councils.

 

Erin’s approach is place-led and evidence-based, grounded in respect for land, ecology, and culture, and guided by the principles of Te Tangi a te Manu – Aotearoa New Zealand Landscape Assessment Guidelines. She values collaborative working relationships with clients, planners, and other specialists to achieve outcomes that are both practical and responsive to their context.

 

With a background spanning science and design, Erin combines analytical rigour with a creative sensitivity to place. Her work seeks to balance landscape function, ecological health, and visual quality, creating outcomes that are purposeful, resilient, and connected to their environment.

 

Working independently but collaboratively, Erin ensures clients have direct access to the designer throughout the process, promoting clear communication and thoughtful project delivery.
